About the area

The Office of Research is in the portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and provides service and support to the UWA community and its partners in their pursuit of high quality trusted innovative research for our community.

Teams in the Office of Research are structured to develop enable and protect research using a model that is researcher focused and encompasses specialist knowledge education and development enhanced visibility and research management processes via online systems and governance.

The Research Infrastructure & Partnerships team sits within Research Enterprise and provides business development support to ensure world class research infrastructure is available to WA researchers and industry.

About the opportunity

  • Collaborate with staff and external partners to identify and progress opportunities that enhance the capability utilisation and impact of UWAs research infrastructure.
  • Coordinate the development of funding proposals business cases and feasibility assessments to guide future investment in research infrastructure.
  • Provide high-level strategic advice and analysis preparing briefings and recommendations that strengthen governance of UWAs research infrastructure portfolio.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency in business development.
  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including academic and professional staff as well as industry and government representatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing successful service-oriented administration of complex funding programs or development initiatives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how research is conducted within a university environment including knowledge of appropriate funding opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to synthesise complex information facilitate collaboration and prepare clear high-quality documentation for internal and external audiences.
