What you will be doing
- Independently managing an active caseload of asbestos matters
- Handling discovery from start to finish including written discovery and meet-and-confer efforts
- Drafting and arguing summary judgment motions
- Taking plaintiff depositions and preparing matters for trial
- Monitoring coordinated case orders and maintaining key deadlines
- Identifying cases that require elevated strategic focus and collaborating with partners on approach
What the firm is looking for
- A background in asbestos defense or closely related toxic tort work such as silica or other coordinated civil litigation
- Comfort navigating California coordinated case procedures and CMOs
- Experience managing complex discovery and multi-party matters
- Confidence handling depositions and motion practice
- Active California Bar admission
- Ability to attend occasional in-person check-ins if working hybrid or remote
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary range of $150000 to $175000
- Multi-layered bonus structure including production origination and discretionary bonuses
- Annual billable target of 1800 hours
- Employer-paid medical coverage up to $500 per month with multiple plan options
