With a deep footprint in Los Angeles Alameda and San Franciscos busiest coordinated jurisdictions this firm offers an attorney the chance to take meaningful ownership of active asbestos matters while gaining exposure to additional litigation practice areas.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in fast-moving detail-driven environments and enjoys the challenge of coordinating cases in high-volume venues. The work centers on asbestos defense with additional opportunities in employment transactional and general civil litigation. The firm offers hybrid scheduling and will consider fully remote arrangements for attorneys with established asbestos-defense experience who can attend monthly in-person check-ins in San Francisco or Chino Hills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and advance asbestos defense cases across Californias coordinated venues
- Monitor trial calendars discovery deadlines and court-ordered requirements
- Draft and argue summary judgment motions
- Conduct discovery including meet-and-confer communications and motion practice
- Take plaintiff depositions; defending depositions preferred
- Prepare matters for trial and collaborate closely with partners on strategy and case analysis
- Identify files requiring elevated attention and maintain consistent forward progress across the docket
Candidate Profile
- Active California Bar license
- Civil litigation background with asbestos silica or coordinated complex litigation experience
- Familiarity with California CMOs and coordinated asbestos procedures
- Experience taking depositions; defending is advantageous
- Motion-practice experience particularly summary judgment
- Ability to attend monthly in-person check-ins if hybrid or remote
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $150000$175000
- Production bonuses
- Origination/referral bonuses
- Discretionary annual bonus
- 1800 billable-hour expectation
