JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Senior Admitting Clerk maintains the day-to-day activities of the front desk including clerical and creating/updating patient records in the Clinical Software for the College of Dentistry.
ResponsibilitiesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates new patient records for screening orientation oral diagnosis emergency pediatric oral surgery dental hygiene and undergrad clinic.
- Verifies patient demographics and enters information into Clinical Management software.
- Captures patient photos for chart and signatures for proper forms and consent.
- Answers multi-line telephone and greet patients/visitors for the department.
- Manages the Medical Consults for all undergraduate patients and alerts undergraduate students assigned to the case.
- Manages the Access database which records the yearly flow of potential patients to the College that were accepted declined referred and/or did not show for screening/orientation appointment.
- Process payments from patients including but not limited to credit cards cash payments and online payment methods.
- Reconciles cash check and credit card payments with the Patient Accounting Softwares bank deposit reports to comply with the College of Dentistrys financial policies and procedures.
- Interacts with patients via phone to inform them of balances due or credit balances owed to the patient.
- Collects payments data to process payments via phone by credit card payments and other current and future payments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of clerical experience. (Experience in a dental or medical office is preferred.)
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a multi-line telephone.
