Job Summary

Primary Role

Excellent technical knowledge of Lamination Punching Press Tools Progressive Tools Notching Tools maintenance (re-sharpening & repairs).
Experience in handling large-size Progressive Tools with Auto-Stacking technology made using Carbide and ASP tool steels.
Repairs & troubleshooting of running Progressive Tools Gang Tools and Die-Casting tools.
Knowledge of cutting element conversion for different models on the same die set.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for servicing all types of Stamping Press Tools Progressive Tools Notching Tools Die-Casting Dies etc.
Monitor tool life regularly without affecting production plans.
Communicate tool life availability to Marketing Production and HOD for tool refurbishment or new tool planning.
Manage spares and review refurbishment requirements for end-of-life tools.
Coordinate with Quality Maintenance and PPC teams for day-to-day tool service requirements and ensure tool availability.
Carry out repair activities for troubled tools and ensure free flow of production in the press shop by arranging tools on time.
Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems in tools and fixtures.
Manage employees through training multi-skill development and issue resolution.
Ability to work under pressure and motivate teams to meet deadlines.
Implement ISO 9001 and EMS systems.
Implement best practices processes and procedures to improve operational performance.
Address production complaints and take corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Follow up on Press Tools / Progressive Tools / Die-Casting Tools trials.
Conduct regular reviews with the production team to meet daily/weekly/monthly production targets through workload distribution in the servicing section.
Monitor tool performance and maintain up-to-date tool history records.
Guide service personnel and ensure servicing activities as per SOP.
Plan and achieve departmental goals and objectives as per defined targets.
Collaborate with Tool Development and Tool Room teams for improvements productivity enhancements innovative ideas and Kaizen initiatives.
Study tool drawings interpret engineering drawings and have exposure to GD&T.
