Donor Engagement Coordinator

Department: Donor Engagement

Reports to: Associate Director Annual Giving

FLSA Status: Non - exempt


The anticipated salary for this position starts at $46600 for the Donor Engagement Coordinator role and ranges up to $56400 for the Senior Donor Engagement Coordinator role. The final pay will be determined based on several factors including qualifications experience education and years within the job or industry with a strong emphasis on maintaining internal equity.

What we are looking for:


The Donor Engagement Coordinator serves as the tactical and operational backbone of the department ensuring that engagement strategies and campaigns are executed efficiently accurately and with excellence. Working across all three engagement pillars - Acquisition Retention and Stewardship - and specialty programs the coordinator translates strategy into actionmanaging timelines logistics and deliverables that bring donor experiences to life.


This role supports KU Endowments mission to create meaningful consistent and high-quality donor experiences that strengthen relationships and inspire continued giving. Combining creativity with precision the coordinator collaborates across teams to implement engagement initiatives enhance program development and uphold KU Endowments standards of excellence. Success in this role requires strong organization attention to detail and a commitment to delivering authentic impactful donor experiences.

Hybrid Work Environment:


Following the initial training period this position offers a hybrid work schedule with the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. However the role requires multiple days per week on-site at our Lawrence KS office to ensure effective collaboration team engagement and alignment with organizational goals.


Whats a typical day look like


Project Coordination & Execution:

  • Coordinate logistics for multi-channel campaigns events and communications across multiple donor segments.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects by maintaining calendars production schedules budgets and cross-team workflows.
  • Support the implementation of engagement strategies developed by Directors and Managers.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Act as a central connector between creative data and program teams to maintain alignment and consistency across projects.
  • Facilitate collaboration among Donor Engagement teams Marketing & Brand Communications and campus partners to ensure messages and experiences are cohesive.
  • Support internal communication flow ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned on priorities and timelines.

Data & Reporting:

  • Utilize data entry segmentation lists and tracking tools to support engagement campaigns and outreach efforts.
  • Monitor campaign performance and donor response metrics assisting with reporting and analysis to inform future strategies.

Quality & Brand Consistency:

  • Uphold KU Endowments visual and messaging standards across all donor touchpoints.
  • Review materials lists and communications for accuracy consistency and alignment with engagement goals.
  • And other duties as assigned.

Whats required to be considered:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Two years experience of diversified office and customer service experience with a preference in higher education.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products specifically Office Word and Excel.

  • Preferred experience in; CRM databases (e.g. Salesforce) project management tools (e.g. Asana) digital marketing software (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud).

Physical Requirements:

  • A valid drivers license.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple locations for training donor meetings networking events and/or work-related activities.
  • Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to directions and safety hazards.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office productivity machinery such as computers keyboards and a mouse laptops phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • This is largely a sedentary role; however some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with donors colleagues students and general public. Must be able to communicate with others effectively.
  • Physical effort/lifting Medium - up to 50 pounds.
  • Rarely; travel requirements can include the following evenings weekends and out of town overnights as a regular part of the job.
