Franchise Management Inc. (FMI) is looking to hire an individual who lives by our corporate values of Heart Integrity and Drive to fill the position of Senior Senior Accountant is responsible for internal reporting of financial performance ensuring accuracy of data and adherence to accounting principles as well as performing reconciliations and preparing schedules to support all general ledger accounts. The role involves communication with Operational managers on a regular addition the Senior Accountant is responsible for leading an Intermediate Accountant improving efficiencies in accounting processes and procedures and managing the workflow of the group
What youll do

What you will do:
Team development spending time one-on-one and group coaching sessions
Lead and support Intermediate Accountant (IA) including 1:1 meetings and annual performance reviews
Prepare and review financial reports for the restaurants including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and other regular reports
Monitor and improve efficiencies and effectiveness of accounting processes
Prepare GL account reconciliations & review reconciliations prepared by IA team
Thorough balance sheet review each period ensuring accounting controls and processes are followed
Financial statement preparation and analysis for quarter end deadlines
Prepare audit working papers for year end
Other duties and projects as assigned by Controller
What youll need
Qualifications
What you bring to the role:
Post-secondary education in accounting is preferred but will also consider a combination of education plus relevant experience
Solid knowledge of accounting principles
Able to lead and coach direct reports with prior managerial experience preferred
Excellent communication skills
Great at problem solving with an ability to think outside the box
Strong knowledge and capabilities in spreadsheets
