- Part of an experienced team of logistics experts responsible for day-to-day operations of a 24/7/365 Command Center focused on shipment alert management tracking and technology tools and service provider management and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the team to provide 24/7/365 coverage in a global Command Center.
- Shipment Alert Management
- Monitor shipments flagged by the automated system as alerts/exceptions (e.g. delays routing errors missed pick-ups theft/tampering etc.)
- Classify and prioritize alerts based on urgency and business impact.
- Engage with internal stakeholders shippers destinations and external transportation providers to work to endeavor its resolved by the responsible party.
- Tracking & Tracing
- Proactively track shipments from origin to destination using the third-party platform.
- Provide real-time status updates and escalation alerts for critical shipments.
- Verify carrier compliance with SLAs (Service Level Agreements) using third-party platform data visualizations and dashboards.
- Transpose shipment information from documents or other sources into the system ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Create reports including post shipment incident and violation reports.
- Understand documented customer requirements and correctly interpret this information to fulfil customer instructions and expectations.
- Interact with customers and providers to address any issues/questions that may arise while shipments are in transit.
- Contribute to development of strong relationships with service providers and vendors.
- Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and pride.
- Comply with regulations at all times. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and external government regulations or customers policies / requirements.
- Understand department process flow constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency.
- Escalate problems to Management when necessary.
- Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year per employee.
- Attend training classes when required.
- Complete mandatory training when required.
Qualifications :
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of air road and ocean transport
- Familiarity with equipment used such as software and GPS tracking devices
- Familiarity with emergency/incident response protocols and processes
Skills:
- Effective interpersonal skills including proven abilities to listen comprehend effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Pro-active strong organizational skills
- Good computer skills (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English
- Additional language skills (preferred)
- Respect for global regulatory compliance procedures and integrity to always uphold them
