Job Summary

Stoughton Public Schools has an opening for a Transportatio and Building Rental Coordinator REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities and Grounds SALARY RANGE: $55000 to $70000 per year (depending on experience) TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Individual Contract non-union/full-year full-time position POSITION SUMMARY:The Transportation/Rentals Coordinator (Coordinator) must be highly organized committed to safety and student support and able to multi-task in a busy environment. The Coordinator oversees ALL (Regular Education and Special Education Field Trips Activities and Athletics) daily transportation operations collaborates with drivers and school staff and ensures that routes are efficient and as safe as possible. The Coordinator is the contact person for all building use requests schedules staff and equipment (speakers podium etc.) setups quotes fees and issues permits collects payments addresses concerns of renters and building leads. QUALIFICATIONS:Three years of related experience and/or training in the area of Transportation preferred. School transportation experience preferred; other routing or logistics experience may equally qualify. Training will be provided as needed. The Coordinator should have proficient math skills to ensure accurate quotes billing and budget monitoring. Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g. email Google and Microsoft products). Ability to read analyze and interpret information; effectively respond to and resolve customer inquiries or concerns; and present information to senior management and/or to use and operate standard office equipment such as personal computer scanner copy machine fax machine telephone Massachusetts Drivers License required; School Pupil Transport (7D) Certificate preferred or candidate may attain a 7D license by the end of the first full year of employmentAssociates Degree in Business or related field preferred but not requiredAny other combination of education skills and experience may be considered at the discretion of the Superintendent and Director of Facilities. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for ALL facets of transportation program administration and operations. The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for the the entirety of the transportation operations including but not limited to:contract administration scheduling routing dispatching rider registration driver training bus evacuation and safety programs scheduling charter bus services vehicle maintenance and replacement (if we decide to purchase vans or MFSABs) budgeting (in coordination with the Special Education Department and the regular transportation contract) account management and entering requisitions for purchase orders into the accounting closely with the Director of Student Services to plan and monitor out-of-district and specialized transportation for students with additional with school principals directors and public safety personnel to ensure that services are delivered safely efficiently and effectively; monitor late bus/after-hours transportation activities; and resolve issues and a hands-on presence in day-to-day transportation timely organized and clear bus registration procedures and timelines to all parents and caregivers. Be trained and prepared to respond to any bus or van accidents or issues. Represent the Stoughton School Department in matters and at meetings concerning school the Director of Facilities Superintendent and other program administrators of issues and concerns related to support to the Director of Facilities Grounds and Transportation Adhere to the Districts Transportation transportation scheduling software and/or work closely with all transportation vendors to develop bus routing in compliance with district other transportation-related duties as all aspects of building rentals including timely communication to all parties PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires the ability to recognize and identify similarities or differences between characteristics of colors shapes and sounds associated with job-related objects materials and REQUIREMENTS:Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination and the ability to distinguish color. The employee must be able to input information into a computer read material from a computer monitor as well as printed matter with or without visual aids. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with other staff members in order to exchange accurate ENVIRONMENT:The noise level in this environment ranges from quiet to loud. The employee must be able to drive their own vehicle to all Stoughton school buildings and municipal town offices.
