The Senior Nuclear Medicine Specialist assists in developing nuclear medicine imaging and laboratory procedures and uses non-nuclear related equipment such as patient monitoring devices life support systems special physiological gating devices and testing apparatus.
1. Consults with physicians or laboratory managers and technical staff in developing and revising procedures.
2. Researches requirements for proposed procedures abstract data acquisition methodologies and data processing protocols.
3. Determines need for and obtains special equipment. Modifies existing or continuing education and training criteria to incorporate usage of these special devices.
4. Serves as project team coordinator with Nuclear Medicine specialty technologists in implementing and performing new procedures.
5. Provides training and instruction on new procedures and equipment usage.
6. Assists technical employees with resolution of more difficult technical problems and instructs or demonstrates appropriate techniques and/or methods.
7. Uses non-nuclear related equipment as needed including patient monitoring devices life support systems special physiological gating device and testing apparatus.
8. Performs other related duties
Bachelors Degree in science field or equivalent
2 years developing and documenting laboratory procedures
