Job Summary
Job Description: Procurement Specialist at BlueLinx Corporation
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and efficiency
- Identify and source reliable suppliers while maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to ensure favorable pricing and delivery terms
- Monitor and analyze market trends to anticipate changes in pricing and availability of materials
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and meet their procurement needs
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery and payment
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in procurement
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Management or related field
- Proven experience in procurement purchasing or supply chain management
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or related field
- Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of building products or construction materials
- Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation
Salary & Benefits:
Salary range: $67000 - $93000 per year
