Job Coach Instructional Paraprofessional

Hawkswood School is in need of a full time Job Coach / instructional paraprofessional to work in theschool-to-work transition program. Job Coacheswork closely with students under the direction of theWork-Based Learning Coordinatorin meeting each students individual program goals.

This position is available immediately.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Coachessupport students in:

1. discovering and developing vocational interests
2. developing work habits and skills that will maximize success after high school
3. developing the social skills necessary to be a working contributing member of the community
4. clarifying vocational goals
5. identifying support needs andjob modifications necessary to ensure each studentscontinued success

TheJobCoachprovides on-site training behavioral support and advocacy for student interns with a variety of community employers. The job coach also assesses student abilities and performance fosters independence and fades prompts appropriately.

• TheJob Coachdocuments student progress and interventions
• TheJob Coachcollaborates effectively with team members in support of the needs of assigned students

TheJob Coach is also a member of the transportation team with responsibility for:

• carrying out and enforcing safety protocols and procedures especially relating to arrival and dismissal
• collaborating with all staff in regards to safety transportation and student needs
