Patient Care Assistant II (Radiology)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide care related patient services and technical support to clinical services including:

1. Assist Radiographers in the entire procedure of patient handling during x-ray examinations including but not limit to patient transfer and aftercare of patients.

2. Assist Radiographers in the handling of detectors.

3. Assist Radiographers in portable x-ray examinations at ward.

4. Assist Radiographers to handle patient data entry and other data records.

5. Assist Radiographers in printing digital images.

6. Perform clerical tasks including Appointment booking Registration Statistics Records Data capture and Inventory maintenance etc.

7. Handle enquiries liaise and communicate with staff and patients.

8. Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the examination rooms.

9. Assist the maintenance and housekeeping of consumables equipments and accessories.

10. Assist to set up Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) image display and Audio-visual equipment for clinical meetings & presentations in Radiology Department.

11. Filing and retrieving of documents.

12. Perform any other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements:

1. Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent;

2. Completion of structured departmental training (see Remarks);

3. Good command of English and Chinese written and spoken.

Preferred Attributes:

1. Tertiary education or equivalent

2. Have good PC skills & knowledge in PowerPoint Access and Word

3. Able to work under pressure good interpersonal and communication skills self-motivated and with a strong sense of responsibility.

4. Working experience in hospital or other health care settings.

5. Pleasant and mature personality show interest working in hospital with patients and able to cope with emergency situations or patient complaints.

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2) if find suitable will be employed to undergo at least 6 months on the job training including the structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.

3. This post is time-limited in nature. Selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed-term appointment up to 26 months depending on his/her existing employment terms. The renewal / extension of appointment will be subject to service needs availability of funding and job performance.
