THE POSITION:
Director Environmental Compliance will oversee and provide direction on all elements of environmental management and compliance from land acquisition through data center operations. The role will support numerous stakeholders throughout the life cycle of STACKs data centers. As a subject matter expert in environmental compliance the successful candidate will be an effective communicative leader dedicated to collaboration and will excel in coordination project management and environmental strategy. The position will report directly to the Vice President Environment Health & Safety and be an integral part of the EHS team.
  • 12 15 years experience with environmental management.
  • Proficient with the management of multiple environmental consultants supporting due diligence remediation permitting and compliance programs.
  • Experience in Title V air permitting is desired.
  • Must have working knowledge in a wide variety of environmental disciplines including Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments noise studies SWPPP SPCC Tier II.
  • Must be able to develop scopes of work coordinate 3rd party consulting bids manage projects review environmental reports and deliverables and advise senior leadership on appropriate environmental strategies.
  • Experience implementing and managing ISO 14001 certifications.
Responsibilities will include
  • Refine and further establish a comprehensive environmental management program within STACK Americas.
  • Oversee and manage due diligence activities including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments noise studies air permitting SWPPP SPCC Tier II.
  • Selection coordination and management of environmental consultants and the review and communication of associated deliverables.
  • Develop strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to leadership and diverse stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate training related to environmental compliance and management.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to Critical Operations to assist in meeting permit and compliance obligations for STACKs operating data center.
  • Maintain knowledge related to current and changing environmental regulations and policies; and advise on appropriate strategies to support development efforts.

  • Location: Denver CO Travel: Up to 20% domestically
  • Compensation: $170000 $190000 base salary 20% annual bonus potential

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors degree environmental science engineering or related field.
  • 12 years of experience in due diligence permitting and/or compliance.
  • Experience with air permitting ideally with data center development.
  • Experience working with regulators and interpreting environmental laws and requirements.
  • Microsoft 365 suite fluency.
  • PE a strong plus
