The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Global Services organization is seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Reliability & Maintainability Systems Engineer for an exciting opportunity with the C-17 Fleet Reliability & Analysis Team in Warner Robins GA. The C-17 platform is a mature airlifter for air forces of the United States and allied countries. This position plays an important role in ensuring that C-17 aircraft continue to be reliable and mission capable.
The ideal candidate will perform reliability & maintainability (R&M) Systems Engineering responsibilities in support of our C-17 internal and external Air Force customers. Typical tasks include but not limited to the following:
Position Responsibilities:
- Review correct and analyze field maintenance and failure data
- Collaborates with systems engineering other engineering groups and Process Based Management (PBM) personnel in order to ensure program-level visibility formal documentation maintenance and timeliness of cycle time and quality-based performance metrics
- Develops and drives RCCA efforts to mitigate recurrent engineering dispositions and reduce customer burden via Organizational Intermediate and Depot maintenance concepts Technical Orders (TOs) Work Instruction Records (WIRs) engineering drawings and design improvements.
- Maintains strong technical network and collaboration with the C-17 System Engineering & Sustainment Engineering teams
- Conduct failure analysis and trending analysis and recommend maintenance operational or process changes to optimize aircraft systems reliability maintainability and availability
- Participate in Integrity Program Working Group Meetings Maintenance Steering Group-3 Meetings Crisis Management Team Meetings Source Maintenance and Recoverability Meetings Deficiency Report Review Board Quarterly Meetings
- Interface with customers and management at major design reviews to provide reliability findings and recommendations
- Provide inputs to proposals. Review subcontractors proposals for reliability program effectiveness
- Develop RLA / LSCA output report perform sensitivity analysis and analyze results.
- Submit RLA / LSCA report to the Support Specialist and review results.
- Provide support to the SMR Code Review Board meetings with the Boeing IPTs and the Air Force.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
- 2 years of experience in engineering or technical field
- Experience with aircraft systems
- Experience with Failure Mode Effects and Criticality analysis (FMECA) and root cause analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college university technical school licensing/certification programs etc.) (Level 3 Mid-Level)
- 5 years of experience in engineering or technical field
- Experience with analyzing field data
- Experience with Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
- Experience with C-17
- Experience with MS Access SQL Python R Data modeling or Tableau
