Job Summary
Sr. Systems Engineer J
- Support and Maintenance:
- Provide expert support for Automic Automation Engine (or equivalent job scheduling tools) in an enterprise environment.
- Diagnose and resolve system/process issues from simple to complex.
- System Engineering:
- Utilize deep knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
- Apply understanding of OS-level concepts and enterprise infrastructure architecture.
- Workflow and Automation:
- Design analyze evaluate test debug and implement Automic workflows for critical business processes.
- Review and optimize workflows for performance reliability and scalability.
- Support migration of workflows from legacy on-premise infrastructure to cloud platforms.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation; develop automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash.
- Integration and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate workflows with ServiceNow and other enterprise systems.
- Expand and enhance system monitoring and alerting capabilities.
- Work with technologies such as Terraform AWX Vault Ansible and enterprise monitoring tools (e.g. Cloudwatch Splunk Grafana).
- Documentation and Best Practices:
- Thoroughly document processes workflows and solutions for consistency and compliance.
- Leverage Confluence or similar documentation/wikis.
- Stay current with industry best practices emerging technologies and tools in job scheduling and automation.
- Communication and Initiative:
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Work independently managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Communicate technical issues to audiences with varying technical backgrounds.
- Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with Active Directory user management.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and other languages (Go Python Java).
- Experience integrating with ServiceNow and using Jira for ticketing.
- Knowledge of large-scale multi-instance Automic environments.
- Exposure to maritime technology environments (a plus).
