Job Summary

Position Summary

DataField Technology Services is seeking a motivated NOC Analyst in either Charlotte NC or Columbia SC. The NOC Analyst serves as the first line of defense for monitoring and managing transport (SONET DWDM IP Ethernet) and voice services. This role operates within a 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC) environment ensuring the continuous uptime and performance of core distribution carrier last mile and customer premise network installations. The Analyst is responsible for troubleshooting incident remediation and documenting mitigation strategies for network issues.

Key Responsibilities

Network Monitoring & Surveillance: Perform in-depth monitoring of SONET DWDM IP and Ethernet networks.
Incident Response & Remediation: Serve as the first responder to network alerts prioritizing the timely resolution of critical issues.
Troubleshooting & Support: Provide Tier 1 support and escalation point for network issues across transport IP Ethernet and voice services.
Documentation & Knowledge: Research and document various mitigation strategies maintaining current knowledge of deployed network technologies.
System Administration: Perform basic system administration tasks including network/system troubleshooting patching and utilizing scripts for task automation.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: 1 to 5 years of relevant experience.
Work Environment: Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and possess strong initiative and troubleshooting skills.
Location: Must be local to interview and required to work onsite for training with a potential flexible schedule afterward requiring presence in either the Charlotte or Columbia area.

Salary Description

$18 per hour
