HK$57842 HK$87341 (HGPS Pt 24 Pt 33) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provision of clinical service

In addition to duties of Optometrist II

- Deliver timely and effective optometric service in both general and specialized clinical settings.

- Provide clinical consultation and intervention with advanced knowledge and skill.

2. Patient management

- Perform and supervise the delivery of appropriate care plans in both general and specialized clinical settings.

3. Health education and promotion

- Organize and conduct community events to the public.

4. Clinic safety

- Ensure compliance of legal requirements occupational safety and health requirements policies procedures and practice standards.

5. Quality assurance activities

- Develop treatment protocols clinical guidelines and procedures within scope of own expertise and based on best current evidence based professional practice.

- Initiate and coordinate quality improvement and risk management to improve work process and service outcomes.

6. Research activities

- Collect organize and evaluate clinical information for clinical research.

- Develop continuous improvement plan based on clinical research findings.

7. Training and development

- Active participation in continuous professional education to keep abreast of new knowledge skill and intervention.

- Organize and conduct intra- and inter-disciplinary training to colleagues especially on the specialized knowledge and skills.

- Coach junior optometrists and develop training plan for individual staff.

8. Supervision

- Supervise support and collaborate team members with effective management skill in problem solving and decision making.

9. Resources Management

- Assist Chief of Service in resource management such as manpower planning equipment maintenance inventory management and budget management.

- Deploy resources to ensure a smooth delivery of optometric service.

Entry Requirements:

1. Be a registered Part I (full registration) under the Allied Health Professional Ordinance and have a valid Practicing Certificate.

2. At least 5 years of postgraduate relevant clinical experience.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure:

1. Recognized Optometry related Master Degree or equivalent. (see Remarks 2)

3. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
