Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. /37.5 hours weekly
There is some work from home flexibility to be determined by the manager; however this is not a full-time remote position and requires working in the Nashville TN office two days per week or as needed.
Responsibilities:
The Manager of NIES will have operational responsibility of the department including those tasks related to performance targets operational standardization quality customer service staffing and professional development. The position requires comprehensive understanding of the business environment around international education.
The Manager of NIES must follow specific procedures in performing all duties related to business operations for NIES. The Manager is required to maintain tact and discretion in handling sensitive confidential and disciplinary matters. The ideal applicant should possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit management and leadership skills attention to detail exceptional customer service skills and a desire to go beyond the written job description.
Position Requirements:
o Establish and maintain comprehensive operational processes to support efficient and high-quality delivery of products and services.
o Manage departmental performance against agreed performance targets and budgets within policies and standards of the company.
o Manage all staff reporting to the position to effectively recruit train evaluate motivate delegate and monitor their activities.
o Establish a robust and standardized onboarding and training program for new and existing staff.
o Create a customer-centric service model that caters to the needs of both the Client (state boards) and the Customer (CPA candidate).
o Protect organizations values by keeping customers personally identifiable information (PII) confidential.
o Evaluate and interpret foreign educational transcripts in accordance with individual state accountancy board requirements. These tasks include validating transcript authenticity interpreting education records and preparing correspondence with various agencies.
o Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of international education systems verification techniques and methodologies for assisting with the identification of diploma mills and counterfeit documentation.
o Build develop and manage a team of education evaluators in applied methodologies and daily processes.
o Participate and contribute to international education organizations such as: National Association of Foreign Student Advisors (NAFSA) Professional International Education Resources (PIER) American Association of Collegiate Registrants and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) ECE Connection Advantage and The Association for International Credential Evaluation Professionals (TAICEP).
o Participate in special projects as assigned.
o Other duties as assigned.
Functional Relationships: All NASBA departments but mainly Client Services Customer Service Resource Center (CSRC) CPA Examination Services (CPAES) Quality Assurance (QA) Licensing and Information Technology (IT).
Internal Customer: CPA Examination Services National Candidate Database Finance Communications NASBAStore Compliance Services and related internal staff.
External Customers: Boards of Accountancy AICPA and state societies academic institution staff accrediting bodies review course providers and potential CPA candidates and licensees.

Experience/Knowledge:
o Educational research experience required
o 5 years of international transcript evaluations work for a variety of countries and industries preferred
o 2 years in a supervisory or management role preferred
o Experience with Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Word Excel and PowerPoint
Education/Other:
o Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution required
o Senior Evaluator designation or equivalent experience required
