Job Title: Boot Room Host Ski Valet Program

Reports To: Director of Lodging

Rate of Pay: $17/hour

Shift: Flexible Schedule must be available to work weekends evenings holidays & special events

Summary:

The Boot Room Host serves as the first point of contact for guests entering the Boot Room in the morning and the final farewell as they depart for the day. This role ensures that every guest interaction in the Boot Room is warm personalized and reflective of the Sundance Guiding Lights of Art Nature and Recreation. The Boot Room Host focuses on guest engagement and comfort while partnering closely with the Ski Valet Bell and Valet teams to provide a seamless start and end to each ski day.


The Boot Room Host is responsible for creating an inviting and organized environment in the Boot Room. While the Ski Valet and Boot Room Attendant manage equipment handling and staging the Host ensures lockers are assigned accurately guests are guided with ease and every arrival and departure is elevated with genuine hospitality.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

General Standards

  • Be the first point of contact for guests each morning and the final farewell each afternoon.
  • Greet and engage every guest with warmth professionalism and authentic hospitality.
  • Ensure each guest locker is properly assigned secured and accessible.
  • Anticipate guest needs offering assistance with locker access additional locker requests and day-to-day transitions.
  • Provide personalized assistance with wayfinding resort information and mountain condition updates.
  • Collaborate with Ski Valet Bell and Valet teams to ensure seamless guest movement during peak arrival and departure times.
  • Maintain a comfortable welcoming and organized Boot Room atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate anticipatory service and thoughtful touches consistent with Forbes Travel Guide and Michelin standards.
  • Monitor common areas to ensure safety cleanliness and readiness for guest use.
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador sharing the story and values of Sundance with enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome guests each morning as they arrive and provide a gracious farewell at the end of the ski day.
  • Assign and manage individual guest lockers for boot and gear storage ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Assist guests with locker access securing personal belongings and addressing additional locker needs during their stay.
  • Coordinate with Ski Valet to ensure equipment is staged for morning departures and stored promptly at days end.
  • Provide light assistance with guest comfort (e.g. offering seating water or towels) in the Boot Room.
  • Support seamless transfers by collaborating with Valet and Bell teams on guest arrivals and departures.
  • Ensure the Boot Room maintains a polished welcoming environment aligned with the Inns elevated hospitality standards.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries or special requests.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in luxury hospitality guest relations or customer service strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-first mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage locker assignments and guest needs accurately.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure during high-traffic periods.
  • Interest in mountain culture skiing or outdoor recreation is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods during shifts.
  • Capacity to assist guests with light items such as boots helmets or personal belongings.
  • Comfortable working in a mountain environment with varying weather conditions.
