Job Summary

Toast has a best-in-class inbound growth engine that now needs to evolve in the new LLM-driven world and we are building the team to drive that evolution. The Director Organic Growth will ensure Toast remains at the cutting edge of inbound growth and ensure that Toast can win todays search but also tomorrows.

Were looking for leader who to own the strategy & execution that drives sustainable high-quality growth across organic channels. This role sits at the intersection of content SEO and emerging search ecosystems - and is responsible for driving organic traffic measuring and accelerating Toasts visibility in MOFU and BOFU content areas and converting that visibility into business impact.

The ideal candidate understands how organic discovery is evolving in an LLM-driven world blends analytical rigor with a deep understanding of how our target customers are looking for information and can operationalize cross-functional teams to deliver measurable results.

This is a rare opportunity for a growth-minded leader to build on and dramatically evolve an organic strategy in the new world of LLMs and shifting consumer behavior.

About thisroll*(Responsibilities)

  • Lead Organic Growth Strategy: Define and execute a strategic roadmap to achieve ambitious organic growth goals across web search content and new discovery surfaces. Maintain a deep understanding of organic growth trends both at Toast and across the industry - and act as the internal voice to bring other teams and execs along.
  • Build and Lead a High-Performing Team: Manage a multidisciplinary team spanning SEO content strategy technical optimization email and distribution growth hacks.
  • Drive Content & SEO Excellence: Oversee technical SEO site architecture and content frameworks to maximize reach engagement and conversion.
  • Innovate for the Future of Search: Continuously evolve our overall organic strategy for generative AI search experiences new discovery platforms and the role of structured data and brand presence in emerging ecosystems.

Who Youll Partner With:

  • Brand Content & Authority: Partner closely with the Director of Brand Content & Authority to 1) Drive MOFU & BOFU content distribution through specific brand channels ( e.g. creators newsletters social platforms) and 2) Identify areas where thought leadership has an important role to play (e.g. Data by Toast).
  • Web: Work hand-in-hand with Toasts web development team to drive execution of an SEO-forward site roadmap (e.g. building new on-site hubs or tools).
  • Performance Marketing: Work with the Director of Performance Marketing to understand when advertising spend amplifies OR eats into organic growth efforts - and test into and align on the right balance for Toasts incremental growth together.
  • Product Marketing & Comms: Ensure Toasts organic growth bets are aligned with our overall product roadmap and strategic positioning.
  • PR and Social: To source stories and distribute them across high-trust high-visibility surfaces
  • Data & Finance: This role will work closely with Marketing analytics & Strategic Finance to measure & quantify the impact of organic workstreams on the overall business.

Do you have the rightingredients*(Requirements)

  • 8 years of experience in SEO content or organic growth leadership at a fast-scaling company ideally in the B2B SaaS space.
  • Proven track record of leading growth teams that drive measurable impact.
  • Deep expertise in modern SEO practices analytics and content distribution - with a curiosity for and perspective on how AI is reshaping discovery.
  • Strong analytical mindset with comfort in experimentation and data interpretation - and how to equate LLM visibility to business impact.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills - capable of aligning execs marketers and technologists around a shared vision.
  • Comfort with ambiguity - the ability to shape and iterate on a strategy in a quickly changing environment vs executing on a tried and true roadmap.

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime bonus/commissions if eligible) benefits and equity (if eligible).
