Position Overview We are seeking a Director (RN) to lead and manage a 32-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ICU Director will ensure high-quality patient care support staff development and oversee daily operations. This role offers the opportunity to expand services including development of a comprehensive cardiac service line and to drive clinical excellence within the department.
Department/Unit Summary -
32-bed ICU staffed with RNs and CNAs

Maintains a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio

Manages diverse diagnoses including:
-
Opportunity to expand cardiac services to provide comprehensive care
Key Responsibilities -
Develop and implement departmental goals and standards aligned with organizational clinical legal and ethical objectives

Direct and evaluate ICU operations including patient care technology service levels and complaint management
-
Manage staffing activities including hiring training evaluation and professional development
-
Oversee budgeting and compliance with financial and audit requirements
-
Promote a culture of professional growth and integrate evidence-based practices
-
Monitor ICU metrics and performance indicators to drive continuous improvement
Qualifications -
Current RN license in New Mexico

Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
-
Previous ICU experience required
-
Prior leadership experience required
-
Strong critical thinking decision-making and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to work independently in a high-stress environment
-
Required certifications:
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
-
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
-
Handle with Care Training within 90 days of employment
