Job Objective:
The Company is seeking to a dedicated and detail-oriented Credit Analyst to play a key role in evaluating and managing credit risks of our clients customers as they expand their reach.
The ideal candidate for this role must have experience in analysing financial data from various sources including bank statements and proprietary datasets and generating comprehensive risk profiles for businesses and their owners. S/he will be responsible for providing insights that will guide credit decisions and ensure that our clients credit exposures remain within acceptable risk thresholds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and make informed decisions on prospective and existing customers based on credit viability payment history credit reports and overall creditworthiness.
- Analyse financial documents including bank statements balance sheets and legal documents to assess repayment capacity and develop detailed risk profiles.
- Use Excel and other analytical tools to process and interpret large datasets identifying trends patterns and risks.
- Conduct on-site client visits when necessary performing risk analysis and gathering insights directly from businesses.
- Prepare and present comprehensive credit committee reports ensuring all credit applications are evaluated with transparency and accuracy.
- Utilize credit-scoring systems to evaluate loan applications and provide actionable recommendations for management approval.
- Monitor customer trends cash flow analyses and create financial projections to assess ongoing credit risks.
- Recommend procedural and policy enhancements to improve the quality of credit decisions and reduce risk exposure.
- Stay up-to-date on legal market risk and compliance issues relevant to credit management.
- Ensure compliance with credit policies and draft predictive models to anticipate credit trends and risks.
- Monitor loans for compliance analysing the financial health of borrowers and producing clear objective reports.
Requirements
. in Business Administration Risk Management Economics Financial Accounting Statistics or a related field.
2-4 years of experience working as a Credit Analyst or in Risk Management within the microfinance or banking sector.
Expertise in wrangling and analysing quantitative data from bank statements and other proprietary data sources using Excel and similar tools.
Ability to prepare and interpret NPL (Non-Performing Loan) reports.
Strong bias for risk management compliance and critical thinking.
Up-to-date knowledge of legal market and compliance-related risks.
Proficiency in analysing cash flows leverage collateral and customer financial strength.
Excellent communication presentation and decision-making skills.
Sound judgment and attention to detail.
