About the team
The Seedbank & Conservation Collections team part of the Botanic Gardens of Sydney science team (BGoS operates at the Australian PlantBank within the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan. The team focuses on seed banking and ex situ conservation of native flora. PlantBank a leading plant conservation facility in Australia features an extensive conservation Seedbank with over one-fifth of Australias flora including over 70% of NSWs threatened species. It also supports active research in plant conservation and seed biology and offers visitors an interactive plant science experience. The collections are supported by advanced germination facilities and world-leading scientists.
The role
Our Seedbank & Conservation Collections Team are seeking a Seedbank Project Officer to organise and deliver Seedbank projects as part of the state-wide acquisition and curation of seed and other conservation collections with the aim to increase ex situ conservation knowledge and effectively support collection end-use and conservation efforts objectives and is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation of passionate world-leading scientific and horticulture staff.
