This role is ideal for a hands-on organised and decisive leader who thrives under pressure manages people effectively and ensures seamless on-time deliveries across local and regional routes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of over 20 staff including drivers and admin personnel.
Oversee POD and route administration ensuring accurate documentation route planning and compliance.
Manage road freight logistics for a fleet of 5 trucks and coordinate with third-party logistics providers.
Drive fleet compliance and utilisation overseeing licensing maintenance and fuel efficiency.
Manage local route planning ensuring OTIF (on-time in-full) deliveries across all destinations.
Monitor and report on staff performance conducting KPA assessments and supporting team development.
Oversee daily weekly and monthly operational reporting providing management with accurate performance insights.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and cost control.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Tertiary qualification in Logistics Supply Chain or Operations Management (Advantageous).
Experience:
36 years in distribution management within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
12 years in staff supervision or team leadership.
Strong knowledge of road freightroute planning and fleet optimisation.
Experience using Route Optimiser Software (Preferred).
