Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals Nursing Homes Home care and Community care.

We are urgently seeking a CNS-Cardiothoracic for a hospital in Dublin Ireland.

Responsibities

  • Undertake full pre- peri- and post-operative assessments of cardiothoracic patients including history taking diagnostic interpretation monitoring treatment and evaluating outcomes across inpatient outpatient and community settings.
  • Plan deliver and assess individualized nursing care and recovery programs across ICU step-down ward and outpatient services ensuring continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice in cardiothoracic care liaising with surgeons anaesthetists critical care allied health and community teams to support integrated safe and effective patient management.
  • Act as an advocate and educator for patients and familiesdelivering education on surgical recovery medications self-care lifestyle modification and ensuring seamless referral to cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Provide clinical supervision mentorship and education to nurses students and the multidisciplinary team promoting evidence-based cardiothoracic nursing practice.
  • Lead or contribute to audits research and service improvement initiatives developing and evaluating clinical pathways guidelines and standards of cardiothoracic care.
  • Engage in clinical governance risk management and strategic planning to enhance patient safety service quality and operational efficiency within the cardiothoracic program.
  • Demonstrate leadership in advancing specialist nursing practicesupporting staff development fostering teamwork and driving service innovation and improvement.
  • Adhere to hospital policies hygiene and infection control standards data protection and health and safety legislation ensuring a safe ethical and compliant work environment.
  • Maintain professional registration and portfolio pursue ongoing education utilise IT systems effectively and stay updated on advancements in cardiothoracic nursing and healthcare technology.


Requirements

  • NMBI Registered General Nurse license in good standing.
  • Post-registration qualification in Cardiothoracic CCU or Cardiology Nursing is desirable.
  • Qualification as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the specialty is desirable or a willingness to undertake an appropriate course is essential.
  • Post-registration experience of over five years with at least three years in a Cardiac or Cardiothoracic surgical environment.
  • Ability to develop policies and protocols in collaboration with other team members.
  • Demonstrates teaching ability leadership qualities professional judgment critical thinking problem-solving skills and a commitment to professional development with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Speaks reads and writes grammatically correct English.
  • Utilises effective time management skills and participates in problem-solving and system improvement within the unit or department.
  • Clearly documents all aspects of patient care and adheres to Standard Precautions including appropriate use of protective barriers safe handling and disposal of infectious waste and correct hand hygiene practices.
  • Demonstrates evidence of recent and relevant experience in the specialised area within an acute hospital setting awareness of new developments in the field and knowledge of relevant national strategies for nursing care.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team with strong communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Shows effective planning organisation and time management with flexibility in rotation and rostering.
  • Demonstrates a strong focus on quality care empathy and respect for patients relatives and colleagues.
