Systems Administrator

Position Summary:
As Systems Administrator you will provide support to Digital Information Technology and Cyber Network Infrastructure for Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) located in China Lake and Point Mugu California. This position is 100% at Government location.

Clearance Required:
Must be a US citizen with DoD Top Secret security clearance
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Install configure and maintain the local area network (LAN) wide area network (WAN) data communications network operating systems and physical and virtual servers.
Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware network and server resources and systems.
Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs including system backups.
Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses.
May assist in network modeling analysis planning and coordination between network and data
communications hardware and software
Ensure communications and information integrity by evaluating implementing and managing security controls in accordance with applicable policies laws and regulations.
Perform backups of system-level user-level and security related information.
Test integrity of backup and restoration procedures in accordance with defined policies.
Provide input in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
Maintain growth statistics space forecasts and software and hardware inventories.
Perform STIG reviews on a quarterly basis to ensure compliance and provide a report of non-compliant STIGS to the Government POC.
Conduct monthly maintenance on system assets.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Education Skills and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field. Experience will be accepted in lieu of degree
CompTIA Security or equivalent certification
At least 3 years experience in systems administration
Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to describe technical implementations
Ability to organize work activities to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities
Ability to create/describe work activity estimates progress and issues
Motivated self-starter who is able to thrive in a fast rapidly changing environment
Desire to learn
Ability to foster positive work relationships with customers co-workers and visitors
Physical Demands and Expectations:
Regular physical activity to include walking climbing stairs bending stooping reaching lifting (up to 30 pounds) and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
Ability to speak read hear and write with or without assistance
Ability to use phone and computer systems copier fax and other office equipment
