About Healthleap
HealthLeap builds AI that helps clinicians prioritize patients surfaces the right data and gets patients the care they need earlier so they can leave the hospital sooner.
We integrate with hospital electronic health record systems screen 100% of patients daily and risk-rank them in real time. Clinicians at Cedars-Sinai and Penn Medicine start every morning with HealthLeap with Houston Methodist Emory and Intermountain Health deploying now.
Real results: 39% more diagnoses. 4 days earlier detection. $11M/year ROI for our first site at Cedars Sinai. 7 revenue growth in 7 months.
We started with malnutrition. Were expanding to every major condition to ensure no patient falls through the cracks. Sequoia and First Round are backing us to build the platform that screens every patient for everything and drives tangible outcomes.
Were 15 people. >$7M raised. SF-based hybrid-friendly. Early enough to shape the product. Late enough to know it works. Results that are changing lives.
About the Role
Ship new products for conditions missed by overworked clinicians.
HealthLeap started with malnutrition - a condition that affects 50% of hospital patients but only 9% get diagnosed. Were expanding to CHF pressure injury COPD and more. Youll lead that expansion. Not just building it - figuring out what to build.
Why you
Youve taken something from zero to one. Not inherited a roadmap - created one. Youve sat with users understood their pain better than they could articulate it and shipped something they couldnt live without. Youre drawn to hard problems where the path isnt clear. Youd rather own the outcome than follow instructions.
What youll do
Talk to hospital CMOs CFOs and clinicians to understand which conditions hurt most
Decide which disease state we tackle next - and own that decision
Design and build the product for that condition end-to-end
Figure out how to surface the right information at the right time using LLMs
Ship something in weeks learn iterate - not months of planning
Define what good looks like when theres no playbook
What were looking for
4 years engineering experience with strong product instincts
Youve built products from scratch not just maintained existing ones
Strong frontend skills (React/TypeScript) and comfortable building APIs
You talk to users and translate insights into shipped features
You find the 90/10 - cut scope ruthlessly to ship fast
Comfortable with ambiguity - you figure out what to build not just how
Nice to have
Experience with healthcare clinical workflows or EHRs
Background in early-stage startups or 0-to-1 product work
Youve worked directly with end users to shape product direction
This role is NOT for you if
Startup unpredictability feels like chaos to you. We find it exciting.
You need detailed specs before you start. We figure it out as we go.
Youve never owned something end-to-end. Here you own outcomes not tasks.
You wait to be told what to do next. We need people who see whats needed and do it.
Youre looking for a 9-5 with predictable hours. We care about deep work and deep rest (we have a minimum leave policy) but when a hospital go-live is on the line we show up - even if that means a 60 hour week.
Interview process
Intro call - Get to know each other
Technical - 1-2 interviews on system design coding
Case study - Walk us through a product you built from 0-to-1

We respect your time. If theres a fit youll know fast.
