Kaitiaki o te Ngahere () specialises in pest plant management and ecological

restoration. We are seeking a Field Supervisor who is proactive organised and confident in leading teams.

The successful candidate will ensure that our projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety

quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide teams to achieve high-quality outcomes within established deadlines while fostering accountability professionalism and a strong team culture
  • Collaborate with the Management team on contract delivery client relationship management and logistical planning.
  • Oversee quality assurance by conducting regular audits and field checks to ensure full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company health and safety standards.
  • Provide mentoring and hands-on support in the field to promote safe efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Manage accurate reporting data collection and project documentation to meet and exceed the expectations of the client and our organisation.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Tertiary qualification in conservation ecology environmental science or have an agricultural/ horticultural background.
  • A motivated and dependable leader who is confident in decision-making and keeping teams focused.
  • Strong communication organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in supervising or managing field crews preferably within ecological restoration land management or a related industry.
  • Knowledgeable in pest plant control revegetation techniques and New Zealand native and invasive flora.
  • A strong physical fitness level and enthusiasm for working in natural environments under varying conditions.
  • A commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • A drive to uphold high health and safety standards as well as quality control.
  • Has obtained GrowSafe certification First Aid certification and other relevant industry qualifications.
  • Holds a Full NZ drivers license (required) with manual competency.
