Overview
We are looking for a Music Specialist to join Aegis Living Laurelhurst!
A good-hearted individual with talent and a love of music and working alongside seniors is the right candidate for this role.
Come create everlasting memories for our residents and families coordinating and implementing music therapy sessions that meet the social physical cognitive spiritual and emotional needs of our residents. Implement a well-rounded program that addresses all goal areas appropriate for our resident population and tailor sessions to the specific needs and preferences within one-on-one and group settings.
Schedule: Full-time Thursday-Monday
Responsibilities
As a Music Specialist your contributions to the team may include:
- Designing facilitating and conducting activities for residents alongside the Life Enrichment Director(s)
- Assist in the coordination of community wide events such as themed parties holiday celebrations and hosted speakers
- Participating in painting and pottery lunch outings shopping trips sporting events card games exercise puzzles games movies and so much more!
- Maintain a professional and caring attitude towards residents
Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proficient in singing and playing various instruments.
- Adherence to the AMTA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
- Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy from an accredited university program is a plus
- Passion for creating delightful musical experiences and commitment to the Aegis mission to bring joy to the lives of each resident
- Experience working with seniors in assisted living or related field preferred
- Ability to use computers TVs apps and other electronic devices
