DescriptionThe Supply Chain Clinical Category Manager provides on-going oversight and analysis of clinical products and services. Will review usage information by nursing and surgical areas. Will work with Nursing physicians and administration on ways to reduce variation and reduce costs.
Responsibilities- Conducts monthly spend and summary invoice reviews of assigned Clinical product and service categories contracts and vendors; reviews price benchmark data to ensure Mount Sinai pricing is competitive to the best range in the database.
- Will create monthly usage reports by service lines hospitals and nursing units.
- Will compare usage against system statistics such as census case volmues and Case mix indexes.
- Ensures established category savings targets are achieved. Completes monthly comparisons to established budgets and savings targets against historical trends and reports conjunction with category vendors develops and implements countermeasures to resolve negative savings trends and budget variances.
- Ensures category vendor compliance with contract deliverables including service levels savings commitments contract pricing new product additions vendor credentialing requirements and other key contract provisions.
- Ensures overall spend levels for assigned categories are being achieved. Conducts on-going reviews of utilization trends including usage off-sets from competitive vendors where product conversions have been implemented.
- Conducts reviews and maintains strict controls on the introduction of new products and services not included in the original contract scope for each assigned product and service category major vendor. Ensures the pricing of all approved new products and services is consistent with the overall contract value and benchmarks favorably.
- Works closely with Sourcing Value Analysis and engages key stakeholders to provide input and selectively participates in monthly and quarterly business reviews for assigned product and service categories
- Other duties assigned as required.
Qualifications- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. BSN preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of Nursing or other previous clinical experience required.
- Contracting experience is a plus to help lead and successfully guide suppliers through MSHSs procurement processes.
- Demonstrated leadership and partnership abilities within business communities.
- Microsoft Office Suite Skills including: Word Excel Power Point Project and Outlook. (Including experience with pivot tables data analysis databases etc.)
