Description of the role:
Toyota of Santa Barbara is seeking a PayrollManager to oversee payroll operations and new hire onboarding. This position plays a key role in ensuring our employees are supported from their first day through every paycheck maintaining accuracy compliance and a seamless employee experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for multi-department operations ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance with federal state and local regulations.
- Lead the onboarding process for new employees including conducting orientations and coordinating training
- Assist with benefits administration employee inquiries and payroll-related reporting.
- Maintain clean and reconciled payroll schedules including payroll journal entries and benefit invoice reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay deductions and benefits with professionalism and confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in payroll management and onboarding
- Proficiency with Paylocity or other HRIS/payroll platforms.
- Payroll experience in the automotive industry a plus
- Strong understanding of CA labor laws wage and hour regulations and compliance requirements
- Demonstrate discretion integrity and professionalism in managing confidential employee and payroll information
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members
