Role Overview
The Operations Manager is the operational backbone of the trades division. This role is responsible for overseeing field technicians scheduling and dispatch inventory flow compliance safety standards project execution and service delivery. You will own operational efficiency customer satisfaction profit retention and internal accountability across the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesField & Service Operations
- Lead technician teams and dispatch logistics across NY/NJ/NJ service zones
- Optimize routing scheduling and job assignment to maximize billable hours and response time
- Maintain accountability for installation quality job completion rates and service KPIs
- Oversee company trucks fuel cards tools and field resource utilization
- Ensure Alpha delivers a seamless A-to-Z security installation and service experience
Inventory & Supply Chain
- Manage and track inventory for doors locks access systems cameras and security hardware
- Maintain accurate stock levels minimize shrinkage and control operational costs
- Partner with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely product delivery
- Protect revenue by eliminating delays tied to parts trucks or tools
Process & Compliance
- Build and enforce SOPs for installations dispatch safety inventory and field reporting
- Ensure licensing inspections OSHA compliance and local trade regulations are met
- Maintain transparent documentation and reporting for all jobs trucks tools and materials
- Conduct audits to ensure team alignment and operational accuracy
Team Leadership & Performance
- Drive a disciplined results-oriented team culture that rewards performance not politics
- Train mentor and develop technicians with on-the-job training and certification pathways
- Maintain accountability loops for field productivity response times and quality assurance
- Implement performance incentives that protect profit and reward operational excellence
- Build alignment across internal teams and field teams to support referral and service momentum
Must-Have Competencies
- Proven experience managing field operations in a trades business (locksmith doors security HVAC electrical low-voltage or similar)
- Strong knowledge of dispatch systems routing inventory management and technician oversight
- Ability to create enforce and optimize operational SOPs
- Experience managing company trucks fuel programs and field tooling systems
- Leadership style rooted in accountability transparency alignment and measurable results
- High urgency execution mindset with margin-protection discipline
