Our Conservation Programs Heritage & Regulation team is seeking a Senior Manager Program Design and Management to lead the design reporting and prioritisation of work programs across the Conservation Planning and Assessment Branch. You will develop programs and reporting to improve support for local government implement biodiversity certification and biodiversity assessment and auditing under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (BC Act) to support government priorities under the NSW plan for nature.

You will lead a team driving strong program management enhancing accountability and reporting while cultivating staff development to strengthen capability and achieve measurable biodiversity and conservation outcomes.

About You

You are an experienced environmental professional with a strong background in conservation biodiversity assessment or environmental science with a deep understanding of the legislative frameworks guiding biodiversity work in NSW including the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016. You have a proven track record of leading teams and projects that interpret government priorities and deliver practical targeted solutions that improve biodiversity outcomes earning trust as a clear and reliable advisor to stakeholders.

You are also a collaborative leader with a strong understanding of program design who can foster strong relationships across government industry and the community communicate with clarity manage competing priorities and maintain a solutions-focused approach. Known for your integrity professionalism and commitment you guide your team and engage partners to deliver outcomes that benefit both nature and people.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in planning biodiversity/environmental science or other relevant discipline and relevant experience.
  • Current NSW drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel throughout the state when required.
