Job Summary Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Finance and Administration this position provides specialized administrative fiscal consultative and analytical support for the division. This position assists in the accurate and timely completion of budget development and financial processes; gathers and provides financial and statistical information; and analyzes financial data patterns and projections; the incumbent leads or coordinates complex and long-term projects supporting division-wide initiatives and presents information and ideas in written or presentation form. |
Department Summary The Division of Student Affairs promotes student success throughout the Cal Poly experience by providing Learn by Doing opportunities delivering innovative student-centered programs supporting personal growth encouraging lifelong connections and empowering all students within a safe inclusive and supportive environment. Student Affairs Administration is responsible for the oversight of services that support the Division in operational effectiveness and enhancing the student experience. Student Affairs Business Services is responsible for the central administration for divisional business services including operations finance and human resources. This unit supports the chief Student Affairs officer to provide oversight of the Universitys vital student support services. The incumbent is required to interact at the highest levels |
Key Qualifications - Working knowledge of operational and fiscal principles techniques and best practices.
- Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively.
- Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn and apply college university and CSU policies and procedures Cal Poly Campus Administrative Policies (CAP) Collective Bargaining Agreements Executive Orders and Coded Memoranda.
- Extensive knowledge of Cal Poly and CSU policies and procedures for budget and financial activities.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather interpret and assess information and data in support of recommendations; ability to understand and analyze problems from a broad proactive approach.

Classification Range: $62136 - $90516 Per Year Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience skills knowledge abilities education licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
