Description
The role:
The Engineering Manager is a strategic leader with a strong technical foundation proven people leadership and the ability to align engineering execution with product strategy.
This role leads multiple engineering teams working on XProtect Capabilities in the space of video management ensuring our software evolves with quality agility and customer value at its core.
Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and clear purpose across multiple engineering teams.
- Build cohesion morale and a culture of empowerment learning and accountability.
- Mentor and develop engineers and leaders fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Plan and manage team capacity scaling and resource allocation to meet delivery goals.
Governance & Delivery:
- Oversee engineering processes governance and compliance standards.
- Own technical backlog items and ensure adherence to the Product Operating Model.
- Establish and track engineering metrics (KPIs OKRs DORA) to guide decisions and improve performance.
- Manage risk budgets and capacity planning for headcount tooling and infrastructure.
- Continuously improve SDLC quality and delivery processes promoting innovation and modern practices.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with Product Management Architecture and other domains to align engineering roadmaps with strategic objectives.
- Facilitate transparent communication and collaboration across teams and sites.
- Champion change management and alignment with Milestones tech strategy.
People Management & Team Culture:
- Lead hiring onboarding and retention to build and sustain high-performing teams.
- Guide individual development succession planning and career growth.
- Promote values diversity inclusion and cultural alignment.
- Address performance and feedback constructively to strengthen team health and results.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in engineering management roles leading multiple software development teams.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC modern development frameworks tools and DevOps practices.
- Demonstrated success in guiding software products from concept to delivery.
- Experience applying Agile principles and scaling delivery across teams and domains.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to balance short-term delivery and long-term strategy.
- Ability to translate technical detail into business context and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Growth mindset with a people-first approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
- Understanding or experience with Domain-Driven Design and the Product Operating Model is a strong advantage.
