Under general direction of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Operations Manager the 1052 AMI System Analyst will oversee key aspects of the AMI systems and operations. This includes system analysis business process support vendor coordination backlog curation root cause analysis of meter performance issues provisioning and maintenance of AMI endpoints User Acceptance Testing (UAT) contract administration and the development of reports and analytics. This position will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AMI operations and functions as a key liaison across business units vendors and field operations to ensure accurate data reliable system performance and effective utilization of AMI technology.
Essential Functions:
- Prioritize field work assignments and curate a large backlog of field activities;
- Analyze AMI data and evaluate vendor software and integrations to support departmental goals and regulatory requirements;
- Conduct pilot programs and evaluate vendor products to ensure AMI systems meet operational and strategic objectives;
- Monitor AMI system maintenance and enhancements ensuring data integrity system reliability and compliance with standards;
- Troubleshoot AMI system and data issues providing technical support analysis and recommendations for resolution;
- Develop and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) for AMI systems and upgrades; document and track outcomes;
- Research and evaluate emerging AMI technologies and industry practices; identify opportunities for improvement and innovation;
- Generate reports and analytics to support billing operations and executive decision-making.
- Develop and maintain AMI documentation including business processes procedures technical configurations and reports;
- Provide training to users and stakeholders on AMI processes and tools;
- Represent the department at vendor meetings cross-departmental workgroups and industry committees related to AMI;

Education:
An associate degree in business administration public administration information systems economics finance computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units i.e. at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in one of the fields above or a closely-related field. AND
Experience:
One (1) year in the information systems field including technical support content management administration of network applications or system analysis.
Substitution:
Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in one of the fields above or a closely related field.
Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may be substituted for the required degree.
