Optical Lab Intern

The Sony Europe Technology Development Centre (EUTDC) is one of the Design Centres of Sony Semiconductor in Europe. Its mission is the development of innovative imaging and sensing solid-state devices from initial idea to technology proof-of-concept demonstrators contributing to next-generation Sony Semiconductor Solutions successful products for the mobile market.

You will:

As an Intern you will be part of our dedicated Digital Validation team to build an optical measurement setup for the optical characterisation of custom laser sources in our laboratory.

This internship will allow learning more about next-generation imaging and sensing technologies working closely with the laboratory team.

You will be involved in the choice of components their layout and positioning on the optical breadboard their setup and operation and the relative measurement and reporting.

You will bring:

• MSc student in Electronics Telecommunication Engineering or Physics
• Fundamentals of Laser sources and optical systems
• Previous experience in optical labs (also at the level of university courses)
• Good command of English
• Knowledge of the Python scripting language
• Familiarity with laser sources and free-space optical setups
• Experience in the processing of measurement/experimental data
• Experience in using lab equipment such as a power supply oscilloscope and multimeter
