The Lincoln After School Music Program is seeking a skilled and versatile Piano Instructorto join our team ideally starting December 1st. The ideal candidate is comfortable teaching students across a range of skill levels from beginners to those with intermediate experience.
Position Description & Responsibilities
- Teach private piano lessons covering fundamental skills (note reading rhythm technique) and advancing through intermediate repertoire and theory.
- Preference given to candidates who can also teach private voice lessons allowing for scheduling flexibility and increased hours.
- Lessons will take place after school on the Lincoln and Hanscom campuses.
- Develop engaging level-appropriate lesson plans tailored to student goals.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with families regarding student progress and scheduling.
- Adjust teaching approach to match the learning style and pace of each individual student.
- Maintain a positive encouraging and professional learning environment.
Schedule & Compensation
- Start Date: December 1st (Negotiable but preferred).
- Pay: $64 per hour.
- Established Studio Hours: We have an existing studio of students requiring coverage during these times:
- Tuesdays: 3:30 PM 5:30 PM
- Wednesdays: 12:45 PM 6:30 PM
- Thursdays: 3:30 PM 6:00 PM
- Note on Schedule: While these times reflect the current established studio the schedule can be adjusted for the right candidate if necessary.
- Additional Working Hours: Enrollment outside of the established studio hours may occur during the following periods:
- Monday & Friday: 3:00 PM 8:00 PM
- Hours per week are guaranteed during the established studio times listed above and will increase based on student enrollment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience teaching piano to students of various levels (beginner through intermediate).
- Ability to teach voice lessons is highly desirable. Please clearly indicate your voice experience and proficiency in your application.
- Proficiency in piano technique and sight-reading.
- Ability to teach a variety of musical styles.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be reliable and able to commit to the after-school schedule.
