Job Title: Epic Inpatient Procedure Orders Application Analyst Go-Live Support (Remote 3-Month Contract)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Epic Inpatient Procedure Orders Application Analyst to support a large health system during a critical Epic go-live period. This is a 3-month remote contract focused primarily on break/fix support ticket resolution and stabilization of inpatient procedure ordering workflows.
The consultant will work in a fast-paced high-volume environment supporting clinicians and operational users and must be comfortable participating in an on-call rotation during the go-live window to ensure rapid response to issues impacting patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day break/fix support for Epic Inpatient Procedure Orders during and after go-live.
- Triage investigate and resolve incident and service request tickets related to inpatient procedure ordering including:

- Diagnostic and therapeutic procedure orders
- Pre-procedure workflows
- Order sets preference lists and order panels
- Status tracking and downstream routing to ancillary systems
- Work within the organizations ITSM/ticketing system to manage prioritize and document all work.
- Collaborate closely with physicians advanced practice providers nurses and ancillary departments (e.g. surgery radiology cardiology procedural areas) to understand issues and validate fixes.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement durable solutions that minimize repeat issues.
- Maintain and optimize Epic Procedure Orders build including:

- Orderables and procedures
- Order sets and preference lists
- Display and documentation fields
- Best Practice Advisories (BPAs) and decision support related to procedure orders
- Coordinate with other application teams (e.g. Inpatient Orders Clin Doc Beacon Radiant OpTime/Anesthesia Cupid etc.) to support integrated workflows.
- Participate in on-call rotations (evenings nights weekends as needed) during the go-live period to support 24/7 inpatient operations.
- Follow established change management processes including promotion practices documentation and approvals.
- Create and maintain documentation for known issues fixes configuration changes and best practices for procedure orders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large multi-hospital health systems on Epic Inpatient.
- Familiarity with integrated workflows involving Epic modules such as ClinDoc Radiant OpTime/Anesthesia Cupid Beacon and Resolute.
- Prior involvement in testing cycles (unit integrated and regression testing) for inpatient functionality.
- Experience developing tip sheets job aids or quick reference guides for clinical end users.
Contract Details
- Duration: Approximately 3 months (extension possible based on project needs).
- Start Date: ASAP ability to onboard and ramp quickly is required.
- Location: 100% remote; may require extended hours to align with hospital operations and go-live demands.
- Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week) with additional hours possible during peak go-live and on-call coverage.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Epic certification or accreditation in a relevant module (e.g. Orders Inpatient or Procedure Orders) or equivalent demonstrable experience supporting Epic Inpatient procedure ordering.
2 years of experience as an Epic Application Analyst with a focus on Inpatient Orders and/or Procedure Orders.
Proven experience providing break/fix support in a hospital or large health system environment.
At least one recent Epic go-live or major upgrade supporting inpatient or procedural areas.
Strong understanding of inpatient clinical workflows including:
Ordering and managing procedures for inpatient units and procedural areas
Pre-op/pre-procedure workflows
Coordination with ancillary and perioperative departments
Hands-on experience working with ticketing/ITSM tools (ServiceNow Remedy Cherwell etc.).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured detail-oriented approach.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively in a remote collaborative environment using Teams/Zoom/Chat.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule and participate in an on-call rotation during go-live and stabilization.
