Position Summary
The Director of Sales is a key member of the Executive Committee responsible for developing and implementing the hotels sales strategy to achieve revenue growth across all market segmentscorporate group government leisure and MICE. This leadership role drives performance through strategic planning effective team management and proactive relationship building with key business partners and clients to position Marriott Islamabad as the preferred destination in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the hotels comprehensive sales strategy aligned with Marriott International standards and business goals.
Work closely with the General Manager Director of Marketing and Revenue Management to optimize yield and market share.
Identify emerging market trends and adjust strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
Contribute to the hotels overall business planning as a key member of the EXCOM.
Revenue & Business Development
Drive revenue growth through proactive sales efforts and account management in all key segments.
Lead the sales team in developing new accounts maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and securing repeat business.
Oversee pricing rate negotiation and contract management in collaboration with Revenue Management and Finance.
Ensure all sales targets budgets and forecasts are achieved or exceeded.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead coach and motivate the sales team to deliver high performance and service excellence.
Establish clear performance goals KPIs and professional development plans for team members.
Foster a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous improvement.
Client Relations & Networking
Represent the hotel at key industry events trade shows and networking functions.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with corporate clients travel agents DMCs and government organizations.
Ensure consistent brand representation and customer satisfaction at all client touchpoints.
Operational Excellence
Monitor and report on sales performance market share and competitor activities.
Oversee sales administration systems and compliance with Marriott Internationals policies and brand standards.
Work in close coordination with the Marketing Events and Operations teams to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Ensure all sales activities align with ethical standards and the hotels code of conduct.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Hospitality Management Marketing or related field; Masters degree preferred.
Minimum 1012 years of progressive sales leadership experience in the hospitality industry preferably within an international hotel chain.
Proven success in managing large corporate and group accounts with measurable revenue impact.
Strong financial acumen analytical thinking and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal abilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and foster cross-functional collaboration.
Preference will be given to Pakistani nationals returning from international hospitality or corporate experience bringing global best practices and local market understanding to the role
