Project Engineer | Power Projects

THE ROLE

Lead the way in delivering ground-breaking HV substation & BESS projects valued up to $40M throughout the Central West Region of NSWwith ourPower Projects Team. As a skilled Project Engineer utilise your expertise to guide dedicated delivery teams ensuring the safe cost-effective and high-quality construction of HV infrastructure projects that meet client requirements KPIs and financial targets within Downers delivery model framework.

This a site-based position with a drive-in drive-out schedule making it ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced delivery this role you will work closely with the Project Manager and on-site teams to coordinate construction activities monitor progress and ensure that technical safety and quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of the project.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Assess risks in construction to ensure safe execution and compliance with environmental and quality standards.
• Coordinate and manage construction engineering activities to ensure timely budget-friendly and quality-driven project delivery.
• Lead by example and consistently promote key aspects of Zero Harm when working with operational teams.
• Collaborate with project teams to form active and effective business improvements that eliminate waste and minimise operational costs.
• Take the lead in managing subcontractors while advising on commercial matters and performance.

ABOUT YOU

You bring a sharp engineering mind practical problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering complex plans on time and to a high level.

• A Trade or Engineering (Electrical or similar) qualification and/or a Diploma in Project Management. Additionally you must possess experience delivering electrical utility projects.

• Experience in the Energy Supply Industry ideally in substation delivery

• Familiarity with tools like MS Project Primavera P6 @Risk Expert Estimator
