About the role

The Council Governance Administrator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Nursing Councils board and governance committees providing high-level executive assistance and efficient administrative support via the Chief Executive/Registrar. This position is responsible for coordinating Council activities managing board documentation and ensuring meetings and communications run smoothly. The role also offers occasional support to the Executive Leadership Team and works collaboratively with the EA to the Chief Executive and other administration staff to deliver seamless service. Key accountabilities include upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders organising meetings and travel managing records and registers and contributing to a positive well-organised working environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organisational skills and writing communication attention to detail and a commitment to excellent customer service.

About you

You are an experienced professional with a solid background in governance support executive assistance or a similar role supported by a relevant tertiary qualification. Your administrative and IT skills are excellent and you are confident using Microsoft Office applications such as Word PowerPoint Excel Outlook and databases.

You will have excellent written communication skills and a strong attention to detail and consistently show initiative working independently while maintaining high standards of personal organisation and prioritisation. Integrity is central to your approach and you are trusted to manage confidential information with discretion. Your interpersonal and relationship building skills are outstanding enabling you to foster positive connections across all levels of the organisation.
