About the Role
The Emergency Management Coordinator isresponsible forsupporting the hospitals preparedness response and compliance efforts related to emergency management. This role works closely with the Emergency Management Department and the Emergency Management Committee (EMC) to develop implement and evaluate the Training and Exercise Plan ensuring alignment with Joint Commission state federal and other regulatory requirements. The Coordinator assists in facilitating training and exercises to strengthen the hospitals disaster response capabilities while also maintaining employee certification and
training records. Additional responsibilities include supporting the orderly operation of the Hospital Command Center (HCC) preparing reports and documentation ensuring adherence to operational policies and procedures and managing emergency managementrelated equipment inventory. The Coordinator represents University Hospital in a professional and positive manner in all interactions.
Responsibilities
What Youll Do
- Supports hospital-wide emergency preparedness response and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborates with the Emergency Management Department and Committee to develop and evaluate the Training and Exercise Plan.
- Ensures all emergency management activities align with Joint Commission state federal and other regulatory standards.
- Assists in organizing and facilitating training sessions and exercises to enhance disaster response readiness.
- Maintains accurate records of employee certifications and training completions.
- Helps ensure smooth operations within the Hospital Command Center (HCC) during activations.
- Prepares reports and documentation related to emergency management activities.
- Ensures compliance with established operational policies and procedures.
- Manages inventory of emergency management equipment and supplies.
- Represents University Hospital professionally in all internal and external interactions.
Qualifications
What Youll Bring
- Bachelors degree in Emergency Management Administration Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience including emergency planning at the local regional state or federal level.
- Experience in healthcare emergency or disaster planning.
- Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Completion of required Incident Command System (ICS) courses:ICS-100 ICS-200 ICS-300 G-191 IS-700 IS-800
- Completion of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
- Preferred qualifications:
- ICS-400
- Instructor Certification for ICS (E/LL449)
- Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT) or equivalent decontamination program.
- Must successfully complete ICS-400 Instructor Certification for ICS (E/LL449) and HERT or equivalent within 12 months of employment.
- Must maintain current credentials in good standing verified through Primary Source Verification.
- Additional healthcare emergency management experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Compensation(NJ Job Transparency Law)
The expected salary range for this position is $74989- $107705 per year in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
