Job Overview/Summary:
The Nutrition Assistant is responsible for ensuring patient meal accuracy satisfaction and compliance with prescribed diets. This position serves as a vital link between patients the clinical nutrition team and the food service department ensuring a positive and efficient dining experience.

Responsibilities:

• Visit patients daily to confirm menu selections and diet-related needs communicating any special requirements to clinical staff.

• Complete patient tray processes including menu selections tray assembly delivery pickup and special requests.

• Transport ReTherm or room service carts between the Food & Nutrition department patient rooms and hospital areas.

• Collaborate with team members and nursing staff to ensure seamless customer service and support patient satisfaction initiatives.

• Ensure Patient Satisfaction goals for the department are achieved.

• Process patient information accurately and communicate effectively with the diet office.

• Promote courteous confidential and responsive service to all patients addressing requests promptly.

• Conduct Hospitality Rounds after each meal to ensure patient needs are met.

• Inventory gather and deliver floor stock to units as assigned by facility guidelines.

Primary Skills:

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

• Customer service orientation with a patient-centered approach.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

• Familiarity with hospital food service systems and patient diet requirements.

• Basic computer or menu management software knowledge.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting and/or 1 year in food service preferred.
