READING/MATHEMATICS INSTRUCTIONAL COACH

Elementary

10.5 months position

Do you enjoy collaborating with and supporting other educators unpacking standards to create engaging lessons and using data analysis results to guide instruction Montgomery County Public Schools Virginia is now accepting applications for a Reading/Mathematics Instructional Coach 10.5 months (210 days) position that may become available for the 2026-2027 school year.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Instructional Coach for Reading/Math works with administrators teachers and other school staff to develop refine and demonstrate evidenced-based lessons correlated to the SOLs to support the regular classroom teachers efforts. The Instructional Coach also works to provide coaching support centered on the SOLs in the areas of English/Language Arts and Math.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teachers License with appropriate endorsement to teach Reading/Math at the elementary level
  • Have experience as an effective teacher
  • Have experience in curriculum development and developing lesson plans
  • Have experience effectively co-teaching and/or collaborating with peers
  • Have experience and expertise in using technology in education to provide instruction
  • Experience or have working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction collaboration and course work
  • Experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
  • Have effective written verbal presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
  • Must be dependable and punctual

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience as a Reading/Math Specialist or Coach at the elementary level
  • Previous experience as an elementary teacher
  • Previous experience modeling and implementing effective instructional strategies
  • Previous experience with using the interpretation of classroom data to inform instruction
  • Previous experience developing and providing professional development

SALARY: $52575.88 - $86938.00 annually with benefits (salary may change with 2026-2027 budget considerations)

FLSA: Exempt
