About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Access and Flow Manager the Leader Patient Flow Operations is responsible for the Nursing Administration and the coordination of safe efficient patient care services within the facility. Responsibilities also include ensuring staffing levels are adequate to meet patient census. The Leader Patient Flow Operations will supervise nursing staff and coordinate all hospital and bed utilization activities in the absence of hospital administration.
The Leader Patient Flow Operations works collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients families management staff physicians community partners and service providers to apply strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges with the ultimate goal of high quality safe and cost-effective services to better support the patient experience/outcome.
The Leader Patient Flow Operations exhibits sound professional judgement and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the Health Services Program and the Mission Vision and Strategic Direction of the NSH.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Program
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
- Minimum of three (3) years medical/surgical experience or equivalent in an acute care setting
- Minimum of two (2) years nursing management experience
- BCLS required
- ACLS is an asset
- Demonstrated leadership planning organization and time management skills
- Ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relations in dealing with patients visitors and other health professionals
- Ability and knowledge to match utilization needs to resources available
- Ability to perform duties that involve lifting bending and stretching
- Competencies in other languages an asset French preferred

- Permanent Full-time; 75 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$40.95 - $54.41 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health dental travel long-term disability and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
