About Company: Our client is a leading Civil Engineering and Construction firm in Nigeria.
Job Purpose: The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing construction projects from initiation to completion. This includes planning organizing and coordinating resources to ensure projects are delivered on schedule within budget and in accordance with established quality standards. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with architects contractors and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to design specifications and smooth project execution effectively bridging the gap between design and implementation.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare schedule coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
Monitor compliance with applicable codes practices QA/QC policies performance standards and specifications
Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
Perform overall quality control of the work (budget schedule plans personnels performance) and report regularly on project status
Assign responsibilities and mentor the project team
Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Manage project risk and identify opportunities for improvement
Provide technical support to the project team and address any technical issues that arise during construction
Communicate project status to the project manager
Coordinate all relevant drawings and ensure proper documentation
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management
Strong knowledge of construction materials methods and regulations
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in project management software (e.g. MS Project AutoCAD) with a strong understanding of engineering principles
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Must be computer literate with sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word and Project
Core Competencies:
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Experience in managing large-scale construction projects
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
Knowledge of budgeting and financial management
Experience in managing and supervising construction teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information.
Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
Ability to troubleshoot issues and think critically to solve complex problems.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
