About the Role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for an Assistant Events Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment flora fauna and aboriginal heritage.
The Assistant Events Officer is responsible for supporting and contributing to the planning and coordination of events of strategic significance for NPWS and partner entities to meet the goals of the organisation for increased visitation community involvement and commercial and leisure / recreational activities.
About You
As an Assistant Events Officer you are skilled in assessing and supporting the delivery of third-party events. The role involves reviewing event applications to ensure compliance with NPWS policies plans of management and environmental requirements as well as managing wedding bookings and providing clear guidance to organisers on conditions of approval. You will liaise with park operations teams and other stakeholders to coordinate approvals and ensure events are delivered safely and responsibly. The position also contributes to the preparation of event briefs and briefing notes for the Manager Senior Executive and other stakeholders and provides on-ground support for major public events including New Years Eve.
