Job Summary
Position Title: Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery

Pay Rate: $80.00$84.00/hour
Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum intrapartum and postpartum patients.
Monitor maternal and fetal status including performing assessments and documenting findings accurately.
Assist physicians during labor delivery and postpartum procedures including emergency interventions.
Administer medications and therapies as prescribed ensuring patient safety and adherence to hospital protocols.
Educate patients and families on labor delivery postpartum care and newborn care.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
Provide support and guidance to new staff students and colleagues as a preceptor or mentor when assigned.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records including electronic documentation.
Qualifications:
Education:
Must meet requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse in California.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Completion of applicable hospital and department-specific RN competencies within three months of hire or transfer.
Licenses and Certifications:
Active California RN license.
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
ACLS certification (required prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment).
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and AFM (Advanced Fetal Monitoring) certifications required.
Skills and Other Requirements:
Basic keyboarding skills and willingness to develop computer competency within six months.
Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are desirable.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients families and team members.
