Job Summary

The Role

Join Howden Compressors as a Project Manager Turbo and take the lead in delivering high-impact blower package projects across the globe. Based in Renfrew youll be at the heart of our operations managing complex engineering projects from sales handover through to site delivery. This is a dynamic client-facing role where youll be the key point of contact driving project success through expert coordination budget control and strategic problem-solving.


Were looking for someone with a strong engineering background (HNC or equivalent) and a solid grasp of project management methodologies. Your understanding of rotating equipment and the oil & gas or petrochemical sectors will be invaluable as you navigate technical challenges and ensure timely high-quality project execution. Youll work closely with internal teams and external suppliers managing schedules cash flows and contractual obligations to maximise project margins and client satisfaction.


This role demands a confident leader with excellent communication and negotiation skills. Youll be expected to think laterally resolve issues proactively and maintain a sharp focus on financial performance and delivery standards. Familiarity with compressor system packaging and tools like MS Project will give you an edge as will a commitment to continuous improvement and customer service excellence.

What you will do

  • Lead Blower Package Projects on behalf of the Company giving direction to all service providers to ensure the successful execution of all projects.
  • Act as a single point of contract for client and manage company / client relationship.
  • Co-ordinate prioritise monitor document and ensure cost targets resource requirements risks and contingencies are actively managed to ensure the successful delivery of the projects.
  • Manage projects through life cycle from Sales handover to delivery to site. Support commissioning activities with information as required.
  • On completion of the bid clarification process procure and maintain the deliveries of equipment in line with the project schedule.
  • Attend all project related meetings internal and external to ensure compliance to HCO/Client requirements.
  • Co-ordinate with engineers on the release of technical documentation to and from the client and provide prompt resolution of any identified issues.
  • Interpret and implement contract terms & conditions including LoCs performance bonds and invoicing.
  • Manage project cashflows maintain up-to-date project costs and provide periodic reports on project status and performance to management and the client
  • Resolve issues arising from deviations to original contractual requirements and the control of cost amendments for such deviations.
  • Reporting on project progress both internally and with the client.
  • Organise and co-ordinate all delivery and despatch activities.
  • Prepare Project Documentation for handover to Aftermarket/Commissioning Teams.
  • Support CBS principles by optimising efficiencies through reduction of costs and improvement of quality and delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to company environmental health and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimisation of environmental impact.

What do you bring

An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile:

  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Excellent knowledge of Project Management methodologies and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Oil & Gas Petrochemical Engineering processes and Rotating Equipment.
  • Confidence and experience to pro-actively solve problems think laterally and identify corrective actions.
  • Leadership communication negotiating influencing and inter-personal skills with the drive and commitment to achieve project objectives
  • A knowledge of compressor system packaging technical requirements would be advantageous but not essential.
  • A knowledge of rotating equipment system design would be advantageous but not essential.
  • A knowledge of and commitment to customer service financial control and engineering quality.
  • A working knowledge of project program design (MS Project) and implementation.
